Some Indonesian Schools Annual ‘Crimes’
As we know that
National Examination in Indonesian still exists. In general, national examination
is a tool to measure students’ ability at the final year in school. The national
examination is a summative test that shows what the students’ get and evaluate
how have students’ been studied in the whole past year. Of course teachers andparents want their
children have good scores in National Examination, so that they can continue to
the next level schools or universities with a good acknowledgement.That kind of
high expectation makes both parent and teacher use any possibleway to get the
best scores in national examination. What they think is only“how to make the
children pass the test”.
Some parents normally
take their children to a course outside the school to enrich their children
knowledge. Some schools also usually do extra study time for their final year
students to make them focus into several subjects that will be tested in final
exam. In the other hand, some people recklessly put their hand under table in
order to make everything happen
as their wished.
Question sheets for final exam, which is counted as a National Secret Document
is being selled fo 500.000-1.500.000 IDR each sheet is something common
nowadays. Up untill now, goverment still can not determine the right way to
track this ilegal activities. Again, everything is just to make their students
pass the national examination test.

to cooperate well with other students so none of them will left behind or even
fail. Some students are being docile and come up as schools’ partner-in-crime.
Recently, seems like a rebellion has happened. Take a look at Abrar’s story,
students of SDN 06
Petang. In 2011, he and some of his friends were asked by his teacher to
join the ‘annual crime’ by helping their friends in national exam. As Abrar was
well educated by his parents to become a good boy by never tell lie, he’s way
too affraid and told her family what has happened in schools.
After listened to her Son’s story made Linda, Abrar’s mom
angry. She said that she felt it is immoral to asked her son cheat in final
exam. Linda’s complain got negative feedback from schools that Linda is just
too exagerate about this case. Not only school, but from the her environment.
Linda is being bullied by her neighborhood, said tha Linda is just pretend to
be kind and else. Up untill now, Linda’s complain still do not meet its ending.
Learn from Abrar’s case, is is not students’ fault if they
might be cheating in the future because that is what they have learnt too in
school. Maybe it is not only because of the person within the ducation fields,
but also the system that run on it. How can the whole result of students’
studying time being judged only by final exam. In indonesia, final exam usually
happen in 4 day, so that four days determine what has happened in3 years (6
years for junior high school). Sound quite funny right?
